With temperatures back above freezing, Boulder County fire departments responded to numerous calls Sunday of burst pipes and flooding, mainly from neighbors calling in for those who are out of town.
Boulder Fire Department Battalion Chief Andrew Fogg said his department responded to several calls, as is typical after a cold snap. One was for a vacant house where frozen outdoor pipes burst.

People on vacation also often turn down their heat to 50 degrees or less while their gone -- not warm enough to prevent frozen pipes when temperatures plunge so low, he said.
Another call came in from Lafayette from a resident who couldn't figure out how to turn off the water from a broken pipe.
Boulder County's temperatures dipped down in the single digits over the last couple of days, but warned up into the mid-30s on Sunday.
