Fire Damages Day Care in Myrtle Beach

Myrtle Beach firefighters were called to the scene of a blaze at a daycare on Yaupon Drive after an emergency call was made to dispatchers.

According to fire officials, the call came in at 6:36 a.m. Monday morning. Six Myrtle Beach Fire units were sent to Pat-A-Cake Daycare to extinguish the flames.

Firefighters say the building was 25 percent involved when they arrived, but the fire was contained within approximately 30 minutes.

There is extensive damage to the building but no one was hurt during the incident and firefighters say no one was in the building when crews responded.

Flames was found on the first floor of the nursery area when Myrtle Beach Fire arrived on scene. No mutual aid was needed and fire crews are now investigating how the blaze started.
