Fire Causes $50,000 of Damage To Building In Delaware

The state Fire Marshal’s Office says a fire in which a
Sussex County man died Monday caused about
$50,000 damage to the apartment on Del. 1 near
Rehoboth Beach.

The fire was confined to the second-floor apartment
in a commercial building at Anna B Street.

Officials still have not identified the victim.

A second occupant of the apartment, who was not
home at the time of the blaze, is being assisted by
the Red Cross, officials said.

A passing motorist reported the fire.
