Broken Sprinkler Heads Flood Warehouse

Tacoma firefighters determined that three sprinkler heads popped activating the fire fighting water pump and flooded a portion of the warehouse loading dock area.

Water formed a 20 by 100 foot lake between the ceiling and the second floor and then poured into the shipping area and out into the parking lot. The building was evacuated because of fears the ceiling might collapse. The lake was drained and firefighters left about 7 p.m.

What caused the sprinkler heads to pop isn't known, according to the fire department.
