Burst Pipe Floods Tennessee Tower; Unemployment Checks Delayed

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Around 40,000 people could be forced to wait a bit longer for their unemployment checks thanks to Tuesday's burst water pipe at the downtown Tennessee Tower.
The building has been closed since the pipe burst and short circuited the building's electrical system.
Thursday afternoon officials said the building would not re-open until Monday.
Thousands of unemployment checks were being printed in the building when power failed. Workers have been manually stuffing and mailing checks to make sure they're in mailboxes in time for the holidays.
If the building is not open by Monday officials will look at alternatives to make sure checks get in the mail.
