SAND LAKE -- Fire caused heavy damage to a home west of Sand Lake this morning.
Flames were shooting from the mobile home at 14025 Beech Ave., just north of 22 Mile Road, when Sand Lake firefighters arrived just after 4:30 a.m.
The four people in the home were out safely before firefighters arrived.
The fire is believed to have started from a wood stove at the rear of the home, which had additions built onto it
Fire crews from Cedar Springs were called in to help with equipment and manpower. Firefighters were on the scene for more than two hours.
