Salvation Army Building Flooded After Pipe Burst

PADUCAH, Ky. — The Salvation Army is doing some salvage work at its Paducah building after a water pipe burst.

Capt. Nick Garrison, who directs the charity's local work, told The Paducah Sun the 1-inch line ran along an exterior wall to an ice maker and he found it ruptured Wednesday morning. Three inches of water covered a concrete floor in the area where donations to the charity are sorted.

Insurance will pay for the cleanup, but not the soaked donations that were waiting to be sorted.

Garrison says he's confident the spoiled goods will be replaced.
