Water Main Break Damages Homes In Pennsylvania

PLEASANT HILLS, Pa. -- A water main break damaged not only a road, but several homes in Pleasant Hills on Tuesday morning.

The break happened around 4:30 a.m. on Upper Street and flowed downhill into yards on Old Lebanon Church Road and Sunrise Drive.

"You can't stop water. It just started coming in everywhere, in the garage and then in the basement," said Mike Kwolek, whose garage and basement were flooded by the break.

The break left holes in the road and sent debris, mud and water into yards.

One homeowner told Channel 4 Action News that he had an estimated four feet of water in their basement game room, ruining the washer, dryer and big-screen TV.

Penn American Water crews were called in to repair the break and fire crews helped pump water out of basements.

There's no word on how much the damage done to homes will cost to repair.
