Home In Scranton Condemned After Broken Pipe Causes Flood

SCRANTON - A South Side home was condemned Thursday night after a broken pipe flooded the first floor with several inches of water.
Authorities were called to 2004 Pittston Ave., where police said the incident displaced one resident, a man in his 20s.
The broken pipe was in a third-floor bathroom, but it went undiscovered for several days until the water overflowed and a ceiling collapsed, police said. Firefighters and code enforcement officials turned off the building's water.
Authorities were struggling to find the building's owner, listed in county records as Angel Perozo of Lawrence, Mass.
