Flooding Threatens Homes In California

Heavy rain is flooding the 5300 block of Pineridge Drive in La Crescenta, threatening five or six homes, fire officials said.
The area lies just south of land burned by the Station fire in 2009.
No damage has been reported to the homes, said Los Angeles County Fire Department Supervisor Art Marrujo. A fire engine is on the scene, and a crew is sandbagging the area to protect the homes.
"There could be potential damage if the water flow were to continue," Marrujo said. [Updated, 3:40 p.m.: A county fire dispatcher said the flooding threat on Pineridge Drive has been resolved for the moment.]
The water flow is clear, and there is no mud or debris coming from the hillside, Marrujo said.
